Why Detect With Us
- Fully Compliant & Responsible: Every event adheres to the NCMD Code of Practice for Responsible Metal Detecting and the Treasure Act 1996.
- Secure Permissions: All our sites—spanning arable, pasture, and occasional specialist locations across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Wiltshire—come with full permission and contracts in place with the landowners, accurate maps, and clear parking info.
We are a friendly, club-style community running well-organised metal detecting digs that always put responsible detecting first. As proud members of the National Council for Metal Detecting (NCMD), recognised as an Online Detecting Group, we strictly follow and actively promote the NCMD Code of Conduct.
Whether you are new to the hobby or a seasoned pro, here is what you can expect when you join us out in the field:
- Room to Breathe: We strictly cap numbers to ensure plenty of acres per detectorist, giving you ample space to swing, chat, and enjoy the countryside.
- Organised & Supportive: Enjoy clear briefings, visible marshals, and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone mixes, shares knowledge, and celebrates each other’s finds.
- Transparent Finds Management: We keep a tight handle on finds recording, working closely with both landowners and local authorities (such as Finds Liaison Officers) to ensure complete transparency, full legal compliance, and proper reporting.

Our Standards & Values
We believe in doing things the right way. We welcome detectorists of all backgrounds who share our deep commitment to courtesy, safety, and respect.
We also actively encourage our members to log their finds with their local Finds Liaison Officer (FLO), or use the Portable Antiquities Scheme Finders submissions to help to contribute valuable discoveries to the archaeological record and protect our shared history.
To protect our members, our landowners, and the future of the hobby, we maintain a firm stance on conduct. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, illegal detecting, or any behaviour that puts others, our permissions, or the reputation of metal detecting at risk.
